OruAka ~ Handmade Cufflinks ~ Blog Bash Sponsor Spotlight

William at OruAka has graciously offered three pairs of handmade cufflinks from his etsy shop for the
~Mommy's Moments~ Men's Package!

Be sure to come back between June 22nd and 26th to enter!
My name is William Okoro and I started making wooden buttons for my wife's crochet project's sometime last year after I got layed off work in the sagging economy. I turned to skills I did not know I possessed when I hit rock bottom. The wood working came so easy, I was sure I was a carpenter in my other life, although my grandfather whom I barely knew was said to be a great woodworker and I have a background in engineering. I soon spinned off to making wooden jewelries and many other wooden treasures and named my etsy shop "Oruaka" meaning handwork in my native language Igbo in Nigeria. My greatest pleasures these days comes from taking a felled tree branch, cutting, shaping, sanding, and polishing it to life again. There are no formal designs to my jewelries, I just cut into a branch and let the natural shape and grains dictate the design of a piece. I do sometimes work with a preconcieved design but try to keep my designs simple and natural. If you don't find what you like in my shop, convo me, I would like to make something just for you.
